Mini Exercise Bike For a Mini Exercise

Keeping fit has become the order of the day and there are hundreds of fitness gadgets to choose from on the market. Every one of them will promise a leaner and fitter you but the point is that cramped living quarters for most of us make it difficult to store large equipment such as exercise machines. Plus, how many of us actually get around to using that home gym equipment on which we have spent a fortune?

But, for health's sake, some space has to be made and some money spent. One does not need to go in for a behemoth machine. A mini exercise bike will do well in the beginning.

One of the major plus factors in buying this bike is the cost factor. The price of this exercise bike is only a fraction of what you would spend on a starting level stationary bike. Naysayers may argue that mini exercise bikes definitely do not have all the features as compared to good stationery bikes but isn't it better to get at least started with something less exorbitant and then take it from there? And the high quality small bikes do offer many features.

The portability of a mini exercise bike is also another feather in its cap when compared to stationary bikes. Stationary bikes are heavy and difficult to move around from one location to another. They may often require complete dissembling if being relocated whereas the mini bike is easily carried between home, office and anywhere you wish.

Even if you are going away for an extended period of time, these bikes can easily be taken with you which cannot be said for recumbent bikes. This allows for greater flexibility of time and place as you can exercise wherever you wish at your convenience.

Mini exercise bikes are not as simple as many think. In fact, they give a better work out to more parts of the body than a stationary bike. Unlike the stationary form which concentrates only on the lower body, mini exercise bikes strengthens the arms, chest and upper back by allowing to 'pedal' with the upper body. This versatility gives these bikes that extra edge.

A mini exercise bike is also safer because you can sit anywhere you want without worrying about the comfort or the angle of the seat. Some of these bikes come with magnetic resistance to give you plenty of variety and challenge with resistance levels going up to 170 watts.

The newer bikes which are available on the market are also lightweight besides being convenient to store. The mini exercise bike is ideal for small spaces where every inch of actual living space counts and also for the price-conscious.

Using an Indoor Trampoline For More Than Just Exercise

If you have ever used an indoor trampoline, you know that they are small and cute little trampolines. However, they are for much more than just jumping around and exercising. If you take a bit of time to look around, you can find plenty of games that you can do on them as well, and make it a much enjoyable experience than otherwise possible.

For the typical household using a trampoline for exercise is not the only usage for it. Especially if you have kids, they are quite likely to find themselves playing around on the trampoline just to have fun, while not caring if they are exercising or not. Allowing children to play this way with careful attention paid is a good way to ensure that they develop some great outlooks in regards to exercise rather than dreading it.

For many people, a small amount of time on a trampoline is much more enjoyable than actually going to a gym and engaging in a lengthy workout. However, before you start packing up all of your exercise equipment you need to keep in mind that it is only suitable for a portion of your exercising needs. Even using the indoor trampoline only a couple of days a week is still a great way to get a good workout, while not burning out on using it.

By incorporating a trampoline into activities other than just exercising, it is not only able to get more usage, but you are also likely to find yourself using it a lot more and for more fun. After all, with money being a large consideration for most people finding more than one way to enjoy the indoor trampoline is very important to making it a purchase that is smart to make.

The Untold Secret Insider Tips to Buying Used Exercise Equipment

I was enraged recently when I went to one of the big name sports stores and saw how much they were charging for a treadmill.

The price was the equivalent to buying new small car, jeez.

Plus this was home gym equipment which isn't built the same as commercial grade equipment.

The real secret is to buy used exercise equipment and not new home gym equipment.

Many people don't realize that you can buy commercial grade exercise equipment and you do not have to spend a fortune.

Here are some tips to help make sure you get quality gym equipment without breaking the bank.

For instance if you are really going to work out and exercise then you need to consider commercial gym equipment over a piece of home gym equipment because the quality is night and day.

Home fitness equipment is made to last for only two or three times a week at maximum and for roughly twenty to thirty minutes.

More than this and you're going to have your fitness equipment wear down.

Commercial exercise equipment on the other hand is designed to be used every hour of every day because many professional gym are open twenty-four hours a day every day of the year.

So the gym equipment needs to be able to withstand the constant demands that the patrons have for these machines.

The price may be a little more but in the end you're getting a higher quality of fitness equipment that will last.

Not to mention when you buy used exercise equipment you are going to save even more.

Just make sure that you buy from a reputable reseller of fitness equipment.

Look for a company that has been in business for at least three years, preferably five or more years.

Check to see if they have a customer service department because if they don't move on to the next company if they do, call them and ask some questions about the machines that you may have an interest in and see how helpful they can be.

Also make sure the company has their own exercise equipment repair service because this ensures that the equipment will be serviced to the original manufacturers specifications plus you know that they will have parts in stock if you ever need them.

Last, check up on referrals, ask if you might be able to talk to a few people who have done business with them.

Following these tips on buying used exercise equipment will not only save you time and money but will also give you peace of mind that you are getting in shape with quality equipment.

Avoid The Liz Lemon Workout at the Gym

The best comedic parody comes by taking a situation that everyone can relate to and then taking it to an extreme. Liz Lemon (Tina Fey) is a major character on the NBC hit comedy 30 rock. Her character is a comedic farce of actual working single women. One of the many issues she faces is managing her weight. During an episode she is asked about her workout routine. In the conversation she mentions that she owns a treadmill. Her co-worker doesnt believe her. In response Liz comments that she uses the treadmill every day, and it cuts to a flashback of Liz Lemon on her treadmill spooning an ice cream sundae into her mouth while on the slowest setting.

While The Liz Lemon Workout is a farce, it is based on an element everyone can relate too. How many times have we taken off workouts? We might not be taking it to the extreme of Liz Lemon spooning ice cream into our mouth while slowly walking, but we do cut off minutes or slow down our workouts. It is a very simple thing not to be working out when at the gym.

In many ways it is more damaging to weight loss goals to not push yourself at the gym, than to being unfaithful to a nutritional diet. It takes dedication to motivate yourself to go to the gym day after day. If a person isnt seeing results at the gym it is hard to justify the time spent at the gym. On those days when it is difficult to make it to the gym, visible results are the best way to add motivation to push through the distractions and make it through another workout.

There are many different things that you can do to get more out of a gym session. Planning out your workout will help you to maximize results. Walking between machines between sets can really drain the time at the gym. It is good to coordinate your workout so that you arent wasting time between sets. Being overly social at the gym can also hurt workouts. It is good to have a workout buddy that will go with and motivate you, but many times that person can turn into a large distraction if they are looking to make working out a social activity. Self motivation is also required to get the most out of a workout. You need to push yourself through the plateaus you hit when working out. Many people struggle with this self discipline or self-motivation. If you really find that you cant push yourself, then it would be a good idea to find someone else that could coach you when working out.

While you shouldnt waste time at the gym, you shouldnt waste time after workouts. It is important to give your body the nutrients it requires after finishing a workout. This includes getting the proper liquid hydration, and taking protein. Your body uses protein to build lean muscles, which will help burn more fats and calories. Taking a whey protein supplement within thirty minutes after a workout will provide your body with the whey protein it needs to build more lean muscle.

Although The Liz Lemon Workout is an extreme farce it should serve as a reminder not to waste time. When at the gym try to maximize your time, and dont waste the chance to give your body the nutrients it needs after a workout.
