Antifungals Rotation and L-Glutamine to Treat Candida and Leaky Gut

By Angie Lindsey

A man who just found out he suffers from candidiasis asked some questions: antifungals rotation, and also L-glutamine.

First question, he was wondering what the most effective antifungals are and if he is able to take them everyday or he has to rotate them? My answer would be yes, you have to rotate them. I have had success (albeit the die-off) with olive leaf extract, oregano oil, pau d'arco and caprylic acid.

He is also considering taking L-glutamine for leaky gut and would like to know if it is as good as some people claim. About this, one of my friends said that her homeopath reckoned her gut was much better after taking two 500 capsules daily for a little over a month, and her food reactions weren't quite as bad anymore.

As to what kind of die-off symptoms people may have, a friend of mine answered that it was definitely the worst of it. She felt disconnected. It wasn't fun, but worth persevering with. Her candida is nearly back down to normal levels now and her gut is healing well.

Another person was starting to feel very well, then stupidly break the diet rules. She felt spacey for a couple of days then decided to have two cloves of raw garlic and the next day was over the top, die-off wise.

And to answer what candida diet site is good for recommendation, as he found the restricted choices are very boring, I would recommend 'Beat Candida Cookbook' by Erica white. It is a good place to start though the cook used a lot of wheat which most of us can't have.
